IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — An eastern Idaho man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with a fatal boating accident.
The Post Register reported Christopher Fife of Idaho Falls pleaded guilty on Tuesday in exchange for prosecutors dropping an additional charge of aggravated operation of a boat while under the influence.
Prosecutors said the 34-year-old Fife was drunk on Aug. 3 when he crashed his boat on the Snake River, killing 33-year-old passenger Cara Tomita.
Fife faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in January.
