In the blotters: fake bongs, sexcapades and sad puppies

Here’s a roundup of some of the funnier police blotter bits from around the county over the past few months. Identifying details have been removed.

While on foot at (a park), officers were contacted by an alarmed citizen who said that there was an individual with a gun on his hip smoking from a bong in the park. The officers made contact with (the man), who had a concealed weapons permit and was smoking tobacco from a hookah pipe. He said that he was a criminal justice student and thought it would be a good idea to leave his gun unconcealed while smoking from what looked like a marijuana bong. The officers attempted to explain to him why people would be concerned and he concealed his gun.

(Caller) reported that there was a subject at (the location) using power tools at 23:30 hours. The officer made contact with the homeowner there; he was cutting a cat door and said he was done for the night. The officer explained the noise ordinance to him.

(Caller) reported a male dressed in camouflage, carrying a rifle, was near the location. The officer found SCSO was conducting SWAT training.

The officer was dispatched to a report of two subjects fishing at the park who were coming dangerously close to striking children in the head while casting their fishing gear. The subjects were GOA.

The officers responded to the area for two suspicious people hanging out in the area. Male half said he was trying to sneak the female into his home.

(Caller) reported an older male walking around carrying a hand axe. The officers located the Fire Marshal conducting an inspection.

Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious male sitting in the cul-de-sac at the above location. Upon arrival, officers contacted a subject who stated that he was enjoying the sun and the view while eating tacos. He was advised that he was on private property and he agreed to leave.

Officer responded to the (location) regarding a dog possibly in distress. Officer found the dog was in good condition, safe and well cared for but extremely unhappy about being home alone.
