Connie Edlin lives on a bluff overlooking the water just north of Kayak Point State Park.
Two bald eagles often perch in tall trees directly in front of her house.
Edlin was outside playing with her dog when she spotted one of the eagles last Friday.
“Most days they stop by, or at least do a fly-over,” Edlin said. “These trees seem to be their favorite perch.”
Edlin thinks the eagles covet the trees in front of her home because they provide an expansive view of the surrounding area.
The eagles have lived in Edlin’s neighborhood for awhile. They once had a nest in the woods next to her home where she could view them, but the nest blew down several years ago, Edlin said.
“We think they have rebuilt in the same area. I just can’t see their nest anymore,” she said. “They have had several offspring that were fun watching too.”
Edlin snapped the photo because she thought the eagle with Camano Island in the background would make a great picture.
And the eagle cooperated.
“He waited for me to get my camera and gave me several different poses.”
