Kitsap County Jail death apparent suicide, officials say

PORT ORCHARD — The Kitsap County sheriff’s office says it appears that a 35-year-old county jail inmate found dead in his cell committed suicide.

Deputy Scott Wilson says the man was found about 7 a.m. Friday. He was identified as Timothy Lawrence Prince of Central Kitsap. The county coroner will determine the official cause of death.

Prince was booked into jail in September by state Corrections Department officials for investigation of escape from community custody. He was also accused of assaulting a corrections supervisor in the jail.

Port Orchard police will investigate the death.
