EVERETT — All eastbound lanes of the U.S. 2 trestle were blocked after a large garbage container came off a truck Tuesday morning.

The container fell off near Homeacres Road around 6:15 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation said. Ramps from Hewitt Avenue and I-5 to eastbound U.S. 2 were closed.
Rotator and tow trucks arrived around 7:15 a.m., the Washington State Patrol said.
The incident was cleared and the lanes and ramps reopened by 7:33 a.m.
Community Transit buses serving eastbound routes were expected to be delayed 30 minutes or more, the agency said.
