LYNNWOOD — A toddler was seriously hurt Saturday morning when he fell from a second-story window.
The 22-month-old boy fell about 14 feet and landed on a concrete patio in the 800 block of 149th Street SW near Martha Lake, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
Medics drove the boy to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His condition was not known Saturday.
The boy apparently pushed up against a screen, Hynes said.
Now that the weather is warm, parents of small children should be extra vigilant about open windows, she said. It’s best to watch children as they play and consider installing window guards.
Keep anything the child could climb on away from open windows. Don’t rely on screens to keep the child in — they weren’t designed to do that, Hynes said.
