EVERETT – Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man after he allegedly attacked his neighbor with a knife this morning.
The man, 19, has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of attempted murder. The victim was not seriously injured in the assault and was treated by medical personnel at the scene, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The attack happened in the 4900 block of 120th Place SE in the Seattle Hill area. Deputies received a call about 7:15 a.m. A man told police his neighbor broke into his home and attacked him with a knife. The man fought back. The suspect was arrested soon after deputies arrived.
He was taken to a local hospital and then moved to the jail. Based on comments he made to the victim, detectives booked the suspect for investigation of attempted murder, Hover said.
Hover wasn’t aware of any dispute between the men. Detectives continue to investigate the motive for the stabbing, she said. As part of their investigation, detectives are looking into the suspect’s mental health.
Detectives this afternoon continue to collect evidence and process the crime scene.
