MARYSVILLE — A man was arrested Sunday evening after a lengthy police chase down I-5.
The suspect drove south from Marysville into Everett. He allegedly got out of his car and ran across the northbound lanes. He hid inside a hollowed out tree stump until a police dog found him, officers said. He was arrested shortly after 6 p.m.
The suspect is a high violent offender. The state Department of Corrections issued warrants for his arrest after he reportedly escaped custody while he was being investigated for felony assault, police said. This was not the first time he ran from police, they said.
Officers from Everett, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol lent a hand in the arrest.
No additional information was available Sunday evening.
