TACOMA — A 29-year-old man has been charged in the death of an Orting woman who went missing for more than two weeks before her decomposed body was found in a ravine.
Pierce County prosecutors on Tuesday charged Jonathan Harris, of Graham, with second degree murder.
Nicole White was last seen leaving a Spanaway bar June 6 with Harris, whom she met through an online dating service. Her mother reported her missing the following day.
Prosecutors accuse Harris of beating White to death, wrapped her in a tarp and rolled her body down a wooded ravine near Kapowsin, about 30 miles southeast of Tacoma. Detectives found her body Saturday.
Using cell phone records and data stored in the ignition interlock device in Harris’ car, detectives determined that Harris drove his car back to the site where he dumped her body.
He is to be arraigned Wednesday.
