SPOKANE — A Spokane man has drowned near Spring Canyon in the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.
The National Park Service said 23-year-old Harrison Fischer was swimming with a group of friends on Monday when he rolled off his floating device and into the water.
Fischer did not immediately come to the surface and one of his friends began diving for him while others went for help.
Park Service rangers arrived and tried to revive Fischer, but were unsuccessful.
