EVERETT — A group of teenagers was detained in north Everett early Wednesday after some kind of confrontation.
A man in his 40s alleged that the group chased him, fired a shotgun at him and struck him on the head with a metal rod.
It was reported about 2:15 a.m. in the 1800 block of 25th Street, Everett police Sgt. Maryjane Hacker said.
Officers found the man bleeding from his head. He said there were up to 10 teenagers in the group.
“It appears they were strangers and the attack was unprovoked,” Hacker said.
Some of the teens reportedly admitted to the confrontation involving a gun, Hacker said. A shell casing was found in the area.
Two boys were arrested. One is suspected of assaulting the man with the rod. The other had warrants. The rest of the teens were released to their parents.
