Two south Snohomish County Masonic Lodges merged at a special ceremony Dec. 30 in Shoreline. Robert Burns Lodge 243 was founded in Alderwood Manor in 1921. Genesis Lodge 305, in Edmonds, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
The two merged and are now known as Mill Creek Lodge 243. The Lodge meets 7:30 p.m. third Tuesdays at the Edmonds Masonic Center, 515 Dayton St. It currently has about 200 enrolled members.
Free and Accepted Masons of Washington leader Warren Schoeben oversaw the ceremony, which was attended by 250 members — known as brothers — and friends.
Brent Arnold was installed as Master of the new consolidated lodge.
Separate charitable efforts by the two lodges will continue now that they are one. Those include a Turkey Trot 5K to benefit the Lynnwood Food Bank and an annual golf tournament to fund scholarships.
