Parents are Herb and Wendy Metz of Everett, and Rick and Sue Fortner of Surprise, Ariz.

Kristi and Erik met at Central Washington University.

Kristi is finishing pharmacy school at the University of Washington.

Erik is a district sales manager for a wine distributor.

Kristi and Erik were at Snoqualmie Falls when Erik got down on one knee and proposed.
