KODIAK, Alaska — The Alaska Earthquake Information Center reports a magnitude 5.5 earthquake in the Kodiak Island region.
The moderate quake that hit at 5:44 p.m. Alaska time was felt in Kodiak but there were no reports of damage.
It was located about 90 miles southwest of Kodiak at a depth of about 30 miles.
The town of Kodiak is about 260 miles south-southwest of Anchorage.
