MONROE — A 15-year-old Monroe High School student was arrested Thursday for investigation of assault after allegedly stabbing two classmates with a writing utensil.
A knife was later found in the suspect’s backpack, according to a press release.
Monroe police arrived at the school at 8:25 a.m. A school administrator reported that the suspect stabbed another boy, 14, with a pen or pencil. They were in the commons area of the high school.
A third boy, 14, tried to stop the suspect by tackling him. He was stabbed, as well.
Police said a 15-year-old girl kicked the three boys until adults from the nearby kitchen stopped the fight.
Both victims suffered minor injuries. The suspect has been taken to the Denney Youth Center in Everett.
