This afternoon’s service from Seattle to Everett on the Sounder commuter train has been cancelled because of a mudslide on the tracks south of Edmonds.
Amtrak service on the route has been cancelled as well, according to Bruce Gray, a spokesman for Sound Transit, which operates Sounder.
Buses are available an alternative. Four Starline charter buses will go directly from Seattle to Everett Station, departing Fourth Avenue and Jackson Street at approximately 4:05 p.m., 4:33 p.m., 5:05 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. and will provide direct service to Everett Station.
Community Transit route 417 goes from Fourth and Jackson in Seattle to Mukilteo. Community Transit route 404 goes from Fourth and Jackson to Edmonds.
Service is expected to be back to normal Monday morning, Gray said. For updates, go to soundtransit.org.
