EVERETT — Snohomish County Council member Nate Nehring and the Washington State University Beach Watchers are hosting a beach cleanup 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Kayak Point Regional County Park.
Children and families are encouraged to attend. Gloves and supplies will be provided, as well as light refreshments.
“This event is about empowering young people to take an active role in caring for their community and the environment,” Council member Nehring wrote in an email on Tuesday. “By partnering with the WSU Beach Watchers of Snohomish County, participants will not only have the opportunity to volunteer, but also to learn about the delicate ecosystems at Kayak Point and the importance of environmental stewardship.”
For more information, people can email Nehring’s office at nate.nehring@snoco.org.
