EVERETT — If you lost trees in the storms of December and January, now is the time to think about replacing them in order to control erosion and fill in bare spots.
Snohomish Conservation District is extending the deadline for orders on native plants until Wednesday.
Many varieties are available that are suitable for addressing bluff and river erosion, providing visual and wind screens or serving as perimeter fences and hedgerows.

The district’s next plant sale is 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. March 6 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 7 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe.
