EVERETT — Neighbors have pulled back on their opposition of plans to build a new industrial park north of the Boeing plant.
The proposal calls for a 40-acre Soundview Technology Center near 5900 36th Avenue W. That location is off Seaway Boulevard. The area has been zoned for industry for decades.
Neighbors, including a group focused on protecting Japanese Gulch, appealed to the hearing examiner in May, citing environmental concerns.
Earlier this month, leaders on the project signed a settlement to end the hearing examiner’s case. They agreed to plant 150 conifer trees, instead of the original design for 99, documents show. They also promised to work with a landscape architect or wetland biologist on the planting.
The agreement was signed by a Delaware-based limited liability company affiliated with the developers.
Documents show as many as four buildings planned, with cedars and firs added to the site perimeter. The projected floor space is around 570,000 square feet.
The Soundview consultant team submitted final construction plans earlier this month. The permit process is ongoing, according to city staff.
The construction company and the project marketing team could not be reached for comment for this story. The marketer has indicated a search for tenants in the aerospace, biotech and high-tech fields.
