New neighborhood emergency department opens in Lynnwood

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics and MultiCare Health System launched operations of the 11,000-square-foot facility Monday.

EVERETT — Overlake Medical Center & Clinics and MultiCare Health System opened a new neighborhood emergency department in Lynnwood on Monday.

The 11,000-square-foot facility is located at 3011 196th St. SW. It features 12 exam rooms, radiology services, a point-of-care testing lab and pharmacy services, Overlake spokesperson Gestin Suttle wrote in a press release Monday.

“Since its inception, Overlake has been a fixture of compassionate, leading-edge care on the Eastside, and our dedicated team of health care professionals is ready to bring that same level of service to communities in the North Sound,” said Jon Duarte, Overlake president & CEO and CEO of MultiCare’s North Sound Region, in the release. “To our new neighbors in Lynnwood – Overlake MultiCare Emergency’s doors will always be open for you when you need us most.”

The standalone emergency department is open 24 hours a day. Overlake has operated emergency care services in Bellevue for more than 60 years, the release said, and the Lynnwood location is MultiCare’s seventh community emergency department in the state. The two Washington-based companies announced their affiliation last year.

“MultiCare’s mission is partnering for healing and a healthy future,” Bill Robertson, CEO of MultiCare, said in the release. “It’s our privilege to work with Overlake to bring these much-needed emergency services to the Lynnwood community. This is one more example of how like-minded organizations are able to accomplish so much more together than we can apart.”
