STANWOOD — Poor visibility Friday night was a factor in a collision that blocked I-5 southbound.
A passenger car traveling north on I-5 near milepost 211 just before 9 p.m. lost control and crossed the median into southbound lanes, Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said.
Weather conditions played a big role in the accident, he said.
An SUV and a semi traveling southbound became involved in the accident. Either the SUV or the passenger car damaged one of the semi’s tires, blocking the freeway for almost two hours, Leary said.
“Visibility was extremely poor,” Leary said. “We are lucky that nobody was injured.”
