Carol Forsberg, of Everett, writes: “Coming off Broadway and wanting to go up to 41st, there is no turn lane by the new Everett school administrative building. A driver has to make a U-turn farther down Broadway or go to 37th and up to Colby to get onto 41st. Should a left-hand turn lane be placed so traffic can turn up to 41st?”
Traffic engineer Tim Miller responds: “This traffic signal and roadway section is operated and controlled by WSDOT and was designed as part of the 41st Street interchange project several years ago. They intentionally did not provide a northbound left turn onto the 41st Street Connector (some refer to this as 40th Street) that leads to the school district offices. … Revisions may not be practical now that the interchange is built.”
