CLINTON — No one was injured after a landslide Monday afternoon in the 5900 block of Hastings Road, according to South Whidbey Fire/EMS.
Mud made its way to the front of a vacant waterfront house around 2:30 p.m., but it wasn’t clear if the house had been damaged, Deputy Chief Wendy Moffatt said.
As of 5 p.m., water was still coming from the landslide. The Department of Emergency Management was monitoring the location, Moffatt said.
“We’ve had small little slides in that area in the past,” she said. “It’s a common thing for that hillside.”
The cliff where the landslide occurred is about 100 feet high. Mud about 4 feet deep piled up against the vacation home, Moffatt said.
