Camano: See String Band’s Colton video

Jack Archibald of the South End String Band on Camano Island said that in the wake of the capture of Colton Harris-Moore, the band’s video of its song, “The Sad Saga of Colton Harris-Moore” on YouTube has had many thousands of hits.

The band’s song about Harris-Moore, known internationally as the Barefoot Bandit, was written a few years ago but never released.

“We didn’t want to promote Colton as a folk hero kids would emulate,” Archibald said. “When he became one anyway, we decided last January to make a video, record the song and ask Colton to turn himself in before anyone got hurt. After that, he pretty much decided to put himself and Camano and the South End on the world map. We just happened to be the band down the road.”
