Arlington: Haggen holds clothing drive
Haggen Food &Pharmacy employees in north Snohomish County are collecting donations for their Warm Clothes for Kids drive, which runs through Jan. 22.
The campaign seeks new or gently worn coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens. Donations made at stores in Arlington, Lake Stevens, Marysville and Stanwood will be distributed by Operation School Bell and Arlington Kids’ Kloset.

Granite Falls: Get help with tax returns
AARP tax aide volunteers plan to offer help for middle- to low-income taxpayers, especially those age 60 and older.
Taxes will be prepared for free and they can be filed by e-mail.
In Granite Falls, people can get help from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 10, March 10 and April 7 at the Village Senior Living Center, 302 N. Alder Ave. Appointments are required.

The city of Marysville Parks and Recreation Activities Guide for winter 2010 is available free.
The activities guide contains information on classes and other activities for the winter, as well as general city news.
Copies are available at city public offices; the Marysville Public Library at 6120 Grove St., and the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce at 8825 34th Ave. in Tulalip.

Stanwood: Expect traffic delays on bridge
Tonight drivers can expect brief traffic delays on Highway 532 at the Gen. Mark Clark Bridge while crews get construction equipment in place. Traffic will be alternated across the bridge from about 8:30 p.m. to about 5:30 a.m.
On Thursday night, crews plan to alternate traffic on Highway 532 at 64th Avenue NW from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for lighting work.
Stanwood: Learn about peace prospects
Ron Young of the National Interreligious Leadership Initiative for Middle East Peace plans to talk about prospects for peace between Israelis and Palestinians at a meeting of the Stanwood Democrats.
Young recently traveled to Israel and Palestine with 20 Jewish, Muslim and Christian national religious leaders.
The public is welcome to attend. A no-host breakfast begins at 9 a.m. followed by the presentation at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stanwood’s Viking Restaurant, 8801 Viking Way.
