BELLINGHAM — The two men accused of killing 24-year-old Ryan F. Anderson during a drug deal gone wrong last year pleaded guilty Wednesday morning.
Everett residents Marcus M. Johnson, 26, and Arthur T. Scott, 28, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for shooting Anderson in his Happy Valley apartment on April 2, 2007.
While purchasing a quarter-pound of cocaine from Anderson, Johnson pulled out a stun gun and Scott carried a handgun, according to court records. Scott shot Anderson in the head and then fled.
With help from U.S. Marshals, Bellingham police located Scott and Johnson in Everett.
The pair will be sentenced at a separate hearing in two to three weeks. The standard range of prison time for second-degree murder is 10 to 33 years, depending on an offender’s criminal history.
