BELLINGHAM — The Occupy Wall Street movement has arrived in Bellingham.
The Bellingham Herald reported that more than 200 people showed up at the protest Friday night, although the numbers dwindled once the overnight camping began. About 20 people will be full-time campers at Maritime Heritage Park.
City officials say they want to be flexible with the campers. They didn’t give the protesters camping permits but issued them guidelines to follow about noise, sanitation, fires and food service.
