Oregon man accused of abusing 3-year-old girl

PORTLAND, Ore. — A 21-year-old Gresham man is on jail following accusations he sexually abused a 3-year-old girl at his mother’s day care.

Court records show Damon Hoyer was arraigned Friday on charges of sodomy, sexual abuse, criminal mistreatment and abuse.

Deputy district attorney John F. Casolino wrote in a probable cause affidavit that the alleged assault occurred Oct. 23.

Hoyer denied abusing the girl, but the affidavit says semen on the 3-year-old’s underwear matched the DNA profile of Hoyer.

The Oregonian reported Hoyer is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center on $510,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court Nov. 18.
