Arlington: Gambling, budget on agenda
Everyone is invited to share their thoughts on the city’s proposed gambling tax at a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday in City Council Chambers, 110 E. Third St. In recent months, the City Council has discussed allowing house-banked gambling at some city businesses, but hasn’t made a decision on the proposal.
Hearings on the city’s proposed 2008 budget and utility tax rates are also scheduled for the meeting.

Granite Falls: Craft party planned
The Granite Falls Library is planning its annual family craft party for Dec. 10.
The event is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. at the library, 815 E. Galena St.
Craft materials will be available for people of all ages. Cookies, hot apple cider and coffee are expected to be provided as well.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Registration prior to the event is requested.

Marysville: Parade planned for Saturday
The city of Marysville’s annual holiday festival, Merrysville for the Holidays, is planned for Saturday.
The event features a parade of lights that begins at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 1049 State Ave., and continues south to Fifth Street.
Alice Corsino, a longtime city volunteer, has been selected to serve as grand marshal for the parade.
