A low-speed car chase that began in Lake Stevens ended in Lynnwood when Washington State troopers nudged the car to a stop and the driver was subdued after receiving an electric shock.
A 44-year-old Lynnwood man drove a 1992 Chrysler New Yorker through a Lake Stevens stop sign, then tried to force a Lake Stevens police cruiser off the road, Washington State Police Sgt. Kirk Rudeen said.
The Lake Stevens Police Department called for help, and Washington State Police troopers followed the man as he drove south on I-5 to the 164th Street exit, Rudeen said.
As the Chrysler turned onto Ash Way, state troopers gently nudged the car from behind, causing it to turn around and stall, Rudeen said. None of the vehicles involved were damaged.
The man was uncooperative when he was removed from his vehicle. He was zapped with an electric shock delivered by Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies, Rudeen said.
The man was driving with a revoked license, and had several warrants out for his arrest, Rudeen said.
