LYNNWOOD — A Seattle man was in critical condition after being shot in the chest early this morning while walking down a Lynnwood street.
The man, 32, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle about 1:30 a.m., Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.
He was with an Auburn man, 30. They were walking westbound along the 6100 block of 200th Street SW when a vehicle pulled along side and gunshots were fired, Sessions said.
The Auburn man wasn’t injured and was interviewed this morning by detectives.
“It does not look like it was random,” but police were exploring all possibilities during the early stages of the investigation, Sessions said.
The two men had been visiting a nearby home and were walking to a store when the shots were fired, she said.
Police did not have suspect information to release this morning.
A specially trained Washington State Patrol police dog was brought in to sniff the scene to look for additional evidence, including firearms and stray bullets.
Traffic in the area was diverted for a short time during the investigation and by daybreak was being allowed to pass.
