SNOHOMISH – Republican candidate Mike Hope launches his campaign for state representative today with an evening event featuring gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi.
Hope, a Seattle police officer, is trying to unseat incumbent Democratic Rep. Hans Dunshee in the 44th District, which includes communities from Lake Stevens to Mill Creek.

Governor asks for budget priority help
SEATTLE – A town hall meeting tonight will let residents help the governor prioritize future spending of tax dollars.
Officials of the state’s Office of Financial Management will detail the “priorities of government” process used in drafting the current state budget. They then will gather comments on what priorities should be present in drafting a budget for the next biennium, 2005-07.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 7 at Seattle Central Community College, 1701 Broadway St., rooms 1110-1111.
