The Snohomish County Elections Department mailed ballots Thursday for the Aug. 6 primary to voters in Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Brier and unincorporated areas of Fire District 1 and the Ronald Wastewater District.
Voters in Edmonds and Woodway have no races to vote on in the primary and will not get ballots. Local voters pamphlets go to households in areas featuring primary races or issues.
This year’s primary features all partisan races up for election and any nonpartisan race with three or more candidates. This includes County Council District 4, the Lynnwood mayor’s position, three positions on the Lynnwood City Council a position on the Fire District 1 Board and two positions on the Ronald Wastewater District Board.
Voters who return their voted ballots through the mail must ensure that ballots are postmarked no later than Aug. 6. Voters may return voted ballot postage free to 24-hour ballot drop box locations near the Edmonds Library, in front of the Lynnwood City Hall, at McCollum Park south of Everett at the Snohomish County Courthouse Campus in Everett, or at locations in Arlington, Lake Stephens, Marysville, Monroe, Mukilteo, Snohomish and Stanwood.
Ballots can be deposited at these locations any time until 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Voted ballots returned to the 24-hour ballot drop boxes must be deposited directly into the ballot drop box.
Any registered voters can use accessible voting equipment designed for voters with disabilities available in the County auditor’s office July 17 through Aug. 6 and at the Lynnwood Library Monday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters may drop their completed ballots at the auditor’s office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office will have extended hours Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
