OLYMPIA, Wash. — The first razor clam dig of the season starts Tuesday at Twin Harbors and Long Beach.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife approved the dig after tests confirmed the clams are safe to eat.
Digging days are Tuesday through Sunday at Long Beach and Twin Harbors, Friday through Sunday in Mocrocks and Saturday in Copalis.
Shellfish managers recommend diggers arrive at the beach an hour or two below low tide. Digging is not allowed on any beach before noon. Low tides are in the evening.
Another set of digs is tentatively scheduled to begin Oct. 22.
