HYAK — Traffic is restricted to one lane in each direction this week on I-90 on the east side of Snoqualmie Pass and the word from Transportation Department Monday morning is “so far, so good.”
Spokeswoman Summer Derry said traffic is moving smoothly on a wet roadway.
The interstate was reduced to one lane in each direction Sunday night. The department plans to lift the restrictions on Friday morning, in time for weekend travel.
The restriction allows workers to prepare the highway for winter travel along the stretch near Hyak where crews have been blasting away a rock cliff as part of a $551 million project to widen the interstate to six lanes.
