TACOMA — A review of Madigan Army Medical Center found that it had higher rates of some infections and more problems with birth trauma in the 2010-2013 period than similar hospitals surveyed by order of Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.
The Pentagon released findings Wednesday and gave military medical officials 45 days to show how they will improve care.
Madigan Chief Medical Officer Col. Stephen Yoest told The News Tribune the hospital has already addressed the concerns.
The hospital at Joint Base Lewis-McChord is one of 56 hospitals in the military health system that serves 9.6 million active-duty troops and their family members, as well as retirees.
