MILL CREEK – A Mill Creek man was arrested this morning after he allegedly robbed a pharmacy for prescription narcotics.
The man, 21, said he had a weapon when he approached the pharmacy counter with a note demanding cash and drugs, Mill Creek police spokeswoman Robin Swanson said.
The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at a Rite Aid in the 16200 block of the Bothell-Everett Highway, she said.
The man was given some OxyContin pills and he ran off.
Police from around the region descended on the area to look for the man. A Lynnwood police dog was brought in and began to track him.
But it was an alert passerby who called 911 to tell authorities she saw the man hiding behind a garbage can, Swanson said. He was arrested without incident.
The man was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery and obstruction, she said.
