OLYMPIA — Texas Rep. Ron Paul has started running the first TV ads in Washington state in advance of Saturday caucuses.
The Paul campaign announced that the ad, called “Three of a Kind,” was to start running in the state on Wednesday on the Fox News Channel. The will run for three days.
The 60-second ad criticizes Paul’s three opponents in the crowded Republican presidential primary. He refers to former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich as a “serial hypocrite,” former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum as a “counterfeit conservative” and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney as a “flip-flopper.”
Paul is currently last in the delegate race, with just 19 after Tuesday’s primaries in Arizona and Michigan, according to a count by The Associated Press. It takes 1,144 to win the nomination at the convention in Tampa this summer.
