A large pile of sawdust caught fire Tuesday near Railway Avenue in Everett. Smoke was visible from I-5 during Tuesday evening’s commute.
Firefighters doused the blazed throughout the evening but flare-ups are expected during the next couple of days.
The company will be using heavy equipment to move the sawdust around to help extinguish any hotspots. It isn’t uncommon for large piles of sawdust, bark or woodchips to ignite as they decompose.
