Granite Falls assistant principal best in state
Mr. B, as Dave Bianchini is known to his students at Granite Falls Middle School, has been named Washington State Middle School Assistant Principal of the Year.
Bianchini will receive his award at the Association of Washington School Principals conference in October and will now be considered for the National Assistant Principal of the Year award. Finalists for the national award will be released in January.
Bianchini was selected as the 2006-07 regional outstanding assistant principal for Snohomish and Island counties, which automatically puts him in contention for the state award.
Bianchini is in his fifth year as middle school principal in Granite Falls. Colleagues describe him as positive, fair and respectful.
“Dave is a priceless asset to the middle school and the Granite Falls community,” said English teacher Kelly Kettler. “In my 20 years as a teacher, I have yet to work with an assistant principal who is more caring and respected.”
Middle School Principal Dick Panagos said Bianchini makes a difference at the school
“We are so proud of Dave and the work he has done for Granite Falls Middle School,” Panagos said. “He has earned the respect from students and support from parents and that’s not easy with the tough job of handling student discipline.
“But Dave’s positive approach has touched the lives of hundreds of students because he is so fair and consistent when dealing with all students.”
