Hi-Q championship round is Tuesday

The area’s top Hi-Q teams meet Tuesday, March 8, for the championship round. Top seed Monroe High School will host Lake Stevens and Henry M. Jackson. The public is welcome to watch. The match starts at 9:20 a.m. Visitors should check in at the main office and might want to call ahead to ensure space is available. MHS is at 17001 Tester Road.

Hi-Q matches started in January with nine Snohomish County high school teams. In the “Jeopardy”-like competition, teams field questions from 13 categories, from art history and Shakespeare to physics and mathematics. Their peers cheer them on in all-school assemblies.

Whoever wins Tuesday’s championship round will go on to a national championship April 13.
