Navy Junior ROTC cadets from Everett and Marysville competed in the Northwest NJROTC Drill, Academic and Athletic Championships, held April 21 in University Place.
The Everett School District’s Navy Junior ROTC Seagull Company earned the overall drill state title.
The Everett company also placed first in unarmed regulation, second place in armed regulation, armed exhibition and color guard, and third place in academics and personnel inspection. Cadets come from Everett, Cascade and Jackson high schools and take NJROTC naval science classes at the Everett campus.
Marysville’s Quil Ceda Battalion was third in state for unarmed exhibition drill and second in physical fitness crunches, with Cadet Kaitlyn Leary placing second overall in crunches. The physical strength team also placed third in a 200-yard relay.
ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps.
