MOUNT VERNON — Seattle City Light is bringing back boat tours of Diablo Lake that were suspended in 2010 to save money.
The Skagit Valley Herald reported tours will operate Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August.
Visitors will learn about North Cascades National Park from park rangers and ride the Alice Ross III across Diablo Lake, guided by educators from the North Cascades Institute.
The tour focuses on the construction of hydroelectric dams for Seattle City Light’s power generation during the early 20th century.
The cost is $29 for adults, $15 for youth 12 and under and $25 for seniors 62 and older.
