SEATTLE — Fire gutted a copier shop on the ground floor of a three-story building in Seattle’s University District.
Apartment residents on the top two floors of the building were safely evacuated Tuesday night with firefighters rescuing some from windows by ladder.
KIRO-TV reports the fire was discovered about 11 p.m. by police responding to a break-in alarm that may have been triggered by the fire. No word yet on the cause.
