50 years ago (1964)
Southtown Everett Auxiliary No. 3293, Veterans of World War I, met recently in Degree of Honor Hall. Edna Beckman conducted the meeting. Ann Francy presided as chaplain pro tem: Effie Gemmer, senior vice president pro tem, and Marie Jackson, junior vice president pro tem. A potluck dinner preceded the meet.
Hemple and Red Bridge campgrounds on the Stillaguamish River in the Monte Cristo District of the Mount Baker National Forest were now closed for construction staking and road reconstruction. Bids had been advertised and opening of bids for reconstruction of the two campground roads would be on Oct. 16.
25 years ago (1989)
The Ankle and Foot Clinic of Everett had moved from 3802 Colby Ave. to 4027 Hoyt Ave. The expanded clinic allowed them to improve and expand their services. Dr. Jeffrey C. Christensen was the owner.
Dennis R. Stettler, Rebekah Brooks and Deborah Ladd had joined the geoenvironmental engineering and technologies firm of Landau Associates Inc. of Edmonds. Stettler was an associate engineer, Brooks worked in geochemistry and ground water issues and Ladd was a geotechnical engineer.
