50 years ago (1958)
Plans were being laid for Jefferson School’s third annual Summer Reading Clinic. Students from third grade to junior high school age were eligible.
Plans were also being made for the annual Horizon Sweetheart Dance. Girls involved were Susan Baker, Dottie Moore, Anne Cross, Susan Rowe, Diane Stephens, Karen Heller, Mary Maynard, Jerri Lee Rine, Nyle Spurlick and Susie Solie. Chaperones were Mr. and Mrs. Chet Solie, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Tideman, Mr. and Mrs. Clem Gardner, and Mr. and Mrs. Van Patton.
25 years ago (1983)
Sno-Isle Vocational Skills Center, 9001 Airport Road, was the cooperative effort of 11 school districts to provide quality vocational training. Classes were offered in production plastics, word processing, lawn storage buildings, fashions, pets, diesel equipment, restaurant work, and custom machining.
K&K Metal Fabricators, manufacturer of Mt. Home Wood Stoves, were having a four-day moving sale. Shasta models were on sale with installation available.
