The Rev. Carlton Goodwin, pastor of First Baptist Church, and Mrs. Goodwin welcomed John Adams, church president, to the new parsonage at 5115 View Drive. Also being welcomed were Mrs. Adams and Frank Eder, chairman of the board of directors, and Mrs. Eder.
25 years ago (1982)
Amy Patterson scored 21 points and snared nine rebounds and Maddy Metzger added 12 points as Everett took advantage of Burlington-Edison turnovers and whipped the Tigers 63-46 at Burlington. Everett outrebounded the Tigers 42-28 as Sofia Beck hauled down eight for the winners and also scored seven points. The Tigers threw the ball away 19 times in the first half as the Seagulls moved out to an insurmountable lead.
Those subscribing to the Jordan Journal, published weekly by Claudia Fricks at the Jordan General Store, learned where to buy a used pickup truck that started every time, when to sign up for co-ed volleyball or when to make arrangements for a youngster’s birthday.
