50 years ago (1957)
Dr. LeRoy Freeman announced the moving of the offices of Binyon Optical Co. from 2713 Colby Ave. to 2625 Colby Ave. The public was invited to a grand opening. Dr. Everett Dickerman said that all installations were new and modern.
25 years ago (1982)
The appointment of Barbara Kusler to the Everett Community College Board was made official by Gov. John Spellman. Kusler, of 516 Ave. B in Snohomish, had been serving on the board since April. She was filling a seat formerly held by Everett attorney Ken Rice, who had resigned. Kusler also worked with the family business, Kusler’s Pharmacy and the Convalescent Supply Store.
Wenceslao and Kathy Aguirre had found a recipe that worked in their Everett restaurant La Patisserie. Stretching Everett’s horizons, they had the first, and the only, espresso machine in town.
