John Sevenich was elected president of Everett Junior Chamber of Commerce for the coming year. Sevenich, a member of the club since it was organized, would succeed Chuck Hilen. Jim Blue and Carl Gipson were elected vice presidents. Named to board positions were Merle Smith, Bud Carpenter, Neil Wimmer, Bob Reike, Ray Sidley and Phane O’Brien.

Everett Community College’s men’s and women’s track teams both finished second at the cold, windy Yakima Invitational over the weekend. Winners were Jeff Sewards, 10,000 meters; Kevin Bickerstaff, pole vault, and Gary Carlson, 400 intermediate hurdles. The team of Keely Meehan, Lori Osterman, Barb Kolkana and Becki Weeks won the 1,000-meter relay.
