Ron Bevensee, a 1952graduate of Everett High School, was recently named campus citizen of the week by a Spokane newspaper. Ron was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bevensee, 3326 Rucker Ave. He was on the honor roll at Washington State College.
The trophy awarded to the team that scored the highest in two games between the carriers of the Everett Daily Herald and the Tacoma News-Tribune would stay in Everett.
One of Japan’s huge industrial conglomerates, Sumimoto Corp., was considering the Port of Everett as the unloading site for 170 miles of steel pipe bound for Alaska’s new natural gas pipeline.
Milt Best Jr. of Mukilteo would compete at the world men’s curling championship in France later in the month. He was one of four members of the Granite Curling Club from Seattle, which had won the United States National Junior Men’s championship the previous month in Wisconsin.
